Cherry Creek State Park is comprised of 12 miles of paves roads and 35 miles of trails that benefit those who enjoy running, cycling, and horseback riding. In the middle of the wetlands and prairies you’ll find an 880-acre reservoir that is used for boating and other water activities.
Residents also enjoy a public beach for swimming and plenty of space for camping, picnics, and bird watching. Many people visit Cherry Creek State Park for fishing and cross-country skiing, as well. Wildlife you may spot while visiting the park includes coyotes, raccoons, deer, and rabbits.
17 Mile House Farm Park features a farm that is over 155 years old and was a popular stopping point for people using the Cherokee/Smoky Hill wagon trails in the 1860s. Tours of the property are free and happen one Saturday each month from 9 AM – Noon.
